The Biggishmouth on Euro 2016 – Vive la France

So later today Euro 2016 begins and the hosts kick off their campaign, the nation will be expecting. They are the favourites, they have home advantage, they have some deschampsof the best players in the world and they somewhat advantageously have the been given a very favourable draw. Everything is in their favour to get a long long long way in this tournament, but not winning it will be seen as failure. They won the1984 European Championships on home soil and the 1998 World Cup on home soil (with current manager Didier Deschamps as a key member of that squad), you see why the nation expects.  I for one am predicting them to win the whole darn thing. A strong start is needed and I feel they will get it against an obdurate Romanian side. Usually opening games can be nervy but I am going for a  comprehensive victory for the hosts, but don’t discount Romania they are just unlucky to have drawn the short straw of playing a France team with a lot to play for first up.

France 3 Romania 0
