My hopefully healthy 2016 – April – to gym OR NOT TO gym!!!!!!!

Friday 1st April

So my return to the gym happened – even on a Friday. A steady workout followed – don’t want to injure myself again – though my knees were feeling the pain even before I started!!!!!!! Workout as follows:- back rest bike alternating with rowing machine, then alternating backrest bike with upright exercise bike. Cross trainer work alternating with backrest bike. Happy days at least I got there – only downside was the pizza deal aftermath – though I had spent the whole day on fruit. Roll on Saturday.

Saturday 2nd April

Day 2 of the month and I’m back in the gym – WAHEY (already beaten last months effort anyways). Workout as follows – back rest bike alternating with rowing machine, then alternating backrest bike with  cross trainer. Return to rowing with backrest bike then a final cross trainer workout alternating with the backrest bike. Whilst good to be making the decision to head back to gym (and actually making it) – food I’m eating a huge issue. Pizza (leftovers from night before) for after gym not helping, then was out for a few pintados’ and then a takeaway – NO GOOD DOING GYM IF GONNA THEN JUST BE A FAT GIT AFTERS – plenty of work and strategy still needed.

Monday 4th April

Too much sport yesterday (plus the Sat night drinks meant I missed my 8/9am going to gym window) – I woke up at 848 mind – went for a short snooze, next thing I knew it was 10:45 – heyho. I made it today thankfully but was a struggle – nearly canxed it but held out. I have learned that I can easily go to gym day after day after day but worryingly cannot go to the gym day after day after day too!!!!!!! Workout as follows:- back rest bike alternating with cross trainer then backrest bike alternating with rowing machine, simples for today. Post gym knee very very very sore, it was a slow walk home and unfortunately a takeaway was had – I can’t even use my only fruit excuse today as snuck in during work a small packet of Hula Hoops and half a ‘Nice’ biscuit – not that that’s too bad as long as I stuck to just them as my contraband #calzonegarlicbreadANDchips grrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Thursday 7th April

Back in the gym zone after a couple of days off – not too fussed by that, the food intake the key at the moment so that break should hopefully not make that much difference in the long run – well hopefully. Workout as follows:- back rest bike alternating with cross trainer then onto rowing machine with backrest bike to finish. Will be back at the weekend for definite – whether both days, now that is the question. Generally looking to do 2/3 days in week then 1/2 days at the weekend as previously said well hopefully!!!!!!!

Monday 11th April

So the ahem ‘weekend for definite’ did not quite work out, neither did the sensible food (or drink) intake either – #miniepicfailthen!!!!!!! Workout as follows:- back rest bike alternating with cross trainer then backrest bike alternating with rowing machine, simples for today.

Monday 25th April

I’d like to blame a bit of a calf twitch for my 2 week gym abstinence but laziness also a factor. Returned today for quite a robust session which hopefully will become the norm – well at least 3/4 times a weeks anyways. Workout as follows:- backrest bike alternating with leg weights, then cross trainer alternating with backrest bike. Moved onto rowing machine alternating with backrest bike followed by sit ups set. Backrest bike to finish. Some nice shortbread with choco pieces when I got in (you do need refuelling after a workout ;-s)

Wednesday 27th April

Even though I did actually make it tonight the worrying thing is the fact I was looking for excuses not to go from around 3pm. Once I get there, and go through the rigmarole of actually getting into my ‘kit’ – I’m fine and tend to have a decent session, hmmm. Anyways todays workout as follows:- backrest bike alternating with rowing machine followed by backrest bike alternating with cross trainer. Pull weights set followed with backrest bike, then leg weights. Backrest bike to finish.

So another underwhelming month with fitness – gym membership could be canx by the end of May.
